I Am Poem

I am Stephanie
Sister of Susy
Who needs sleep, patience, time.
Who loves writing, her family, her friends.
Who sees passion, jealousy, ambition.
Who hates ignorance, favoritism, racism.
Who fears of risks, fame, growing up.
Who dreams of success, accomplishments, determination.
Who has found poems of love.

My Mother, My Guidance; My Eveything

Azucena,
She was my mother, friend, guidance; my everything.
I remember her just as she was the last time I saw her,
Glowing with happiness and brightening my world with her smile.
I remember her forgiving and joyous smile, her loving gaze and blissful laughter
I remember all the joyful, downhearted, bitter and solitary moments we spent together.
Moments that we shared.
I remember her unforgettable scent; soft and fresh and all her own.
I believe she is in a more peaceful place.
I believe everything has a purpose; nothing just happens just to happen.
All of my beliefs are my own, but they were strengthened by her.
My mother, my guidance, my everything.

just because...

 Just because I'm a girl
Doesn't mean I can't play sports
Doesn't mean I play with barbies
And doesn't mean my favorite color is pink
Just because I'm a girl
Doesn't mean I write neat
Doesn't mean I stay on gossip
And doesn't mean I shop all the time
Just because I'm a girl
Doesn't mean I like to go to parties
Doesn't mean I like to wear mini skirts
And doesn't mean I like talking on the phone all the time
Just because
Why do people always make these stereotypes?
Why do they think all girls are the same?
Why can they just get to know me?
Just because I'm a girl
